“Lovely Lunch”
I’ve eaten at The Culbone a few times, so it was the pefect choice for lunch with a girlfriend. It was pleasantly busy (always a good sign) and the food and service both excellent, as always! My friend hadn’t been to The Culbone before, but I’m sure she’ll be back. I definately will, so thank [...]
“Everything a restaurant should be”
On frequent trips to Porlock Weir the entire family always looks forward to a trip to The Culbone. The food is always first class, beautifully presented and sourced locally. “Hidden Little Gem!”
Stayed here for 2 nights on a business/pleasure trip in October in Porlock, and for the price point (around £50/night) it is a real gem. It is a way up from Porlock on Exmoor however, but it is so darn peaceful and calm up there, and beauitful to boot! (to note there is n mobile [...]
“Second visit”
Last night we were guests at a friends birthday treat at the Culbone and we had a great time. Being Wednesday it was steak night and the sirloin was two for the price of one. “Sunday Lunch – but Plus!!”
Reviewed 24 September 2012 We followed up an advert for this restaurant in the Exmoor magazine at our B&B and were so glad we did. After a truly atmospheric drive around/over/through(?) a very misty and drizzly Exmoor we had the reward of a really well cooked meal for the 2 of us. Starters were scallops [...]

“Perfect place for a weekend break”
TO ACHIEVE a mini getaway you only need to go as far as the A39 between Lynmouth and Porlock. If you know this stretch of road you may not recall many buildings, and you would be right, except for The Culbone Inn. Although it is known as an inn in reality it is far [...]

“The Savior in the woods!”
They were our saviors when we were almost lost in the Exmoor forests!!! Thanks will not be merely enough. On Good Friday this year, after hiking for about 11 miles along the southwest coastal trail from Countisbury we (3 of us) were tired and hungry trying to reach some town to be picked up. It [...]
“Surprising Delicious Food”
We called at the pub on spec thinking we might get a decent bit of pub grub and were pleasantly surprised by the quality. Real fine dining. The service was good and friendly and the atmosphere the same. I would really recommend this place. Linda S, Market Drayton Tweet
“Everything and a little more.”
Went there with a group of 9 and got seated within 10 minutes without having booked (9 pm after a long drive down to Exmoor). It was clear from this second impression (the first was the splendid ambiente) that we’re in for a treat. Food was outstanding with the eyes equally as pleased as the [...]
“Classy establishment in Exmoor”
Visited twice during a weeks holiday in Exmoor. Obviously a well run establishment from the minute you walk in the door. modern but not pretentious.
