The Culbone is already a winner, with one of the most spectacular views in the country. It also offers the warmest welcome imaginable – especially to our dog, who was allowed to accompany us into the restaurant. The menu offered something for everyone, with a good range of fish and vegetarian dishes for the non-meat-eaters and local meat for the carnivores. My elderly mother-in-law enjoyed two starters instead of having a larger main course and was delighted. All the staff were friendly, professional and interested in their work and the whole place was very clean and well-presented. The aioli sauce with a touch of saffron was a revelation, as were the courgette chips which accompanied the halloumi burger. Overall the chef’s interest in subtle tastes without flashiness was very obvious and much appreciated.
“Excellent food in an idyllic setting”
